April 2010

4/3 and 4/10:  Join me for a sewing class at Studio 34!

In this two-part class, you will hand-stitch and embellish a beautiful pouch to store jewelry, eyeglasses, pencils and more. Inspired by Wagashi: Handcrafted Fashion Art from Japan, this project uses scraps of colorful fabric, ribbon, and beads to create a small and detailed work of art you will be proud to give as a gift! Even if you have never sewn before, you will learn easy sewing techniques you can use in other projects.

In session 1 (April 3, 1PM - 3PM),  students receive an introduction to Wagashi projects and learn how to cut out and assemble different fabric components of the pouch.

In session 2 (April 10, 1PM - 3PM), students embellish their pouches using beads and decorative stitches.

How to register: Contact Studio 34  at (585) 737-5858 to reserve your spot in the class.  Cost: $60.

Supplies needed: A supply list is sent upon registration. Supply kits are also available for purchase ($20).
